About the Event
Since the onset of the pandemic, governments and public bodies have abandoned standard principles of medical ethics and compromised our civil liberties under the guise of responding to an unprecedented public health crisis. While alarmism about the pandemic has subsided, this does not mean that the systemic changes to our understanding of medical ethics and civil liberties will return to what they were before. These changes are poised to become permanent, unless we are willing to stand up to them through organized, peaceful civil disobedience. In this talk, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty will draw from his firsthand experience of the pernicious effects of pandemic policy to argue that we must resist the rising biosecurity surveillance regime.
Drinks and snacks served at 5:15 p.m., with lecture and discussion to follow.
